Poland: Government delays abortion band amid nationwide protest

Poland’s constitutional court ruling banned abortion due to foetal congenital defects on October 22 which sparked a controversy in the country. Thousands came out on the streets to protest against it. The decision faced a two-week protest amid strict rules on public gatherings due to coronavirus.
This law was to be implemented on 2nd November after which termination will be considered legal only in cases of rapes, incest, and when the woman’s life is in danger. But the band has been delayed by the government and since it has not been published in the official gazette of government, it does not have legal power.
