Tickets for Ed Sheeran have been cancelled for NHS and emergency personnel.

Some NHS and emergency service employees who acquired promo tickets for Ed Sheeran’s Glasgow show had them revoked just hours before the show.

They were purchased through the Blue Light Card programme, which also provides discounts to social workers and members of the armed forces.

The event organiser had cancelled Ticketmaster’s allocation of Blue Light tickets, according to Ticketmaster.

The show at Hampden Park, according to AEG Presents, was sold out.

Sheeran performed at the first of two shows on Thursday and the second on Friday.

The artist is now on his Mathematics world tour, which has so far included stops in Sunderland and Manchester.

Some members of his band had gotten cancellation notifications, while others had not, according to one disgruntled fan in Scotland.

He said he didn’t know if he’d get in and called the situation “a shambles.”

Firefighter David McInnes said he took his kids out of school early so they could go to Glasgow from Argyll and Bute, and they were on their way when they got the news via email.

Another fan, who contacted Ticketmaster through Twitter, said he received an email from Ticketmaster on Thursday night informing him of the cancellation.

“Is there any actual explanation or way to get something else before I have a distraught seven-year-old kid?” he tweeted.

The choice, according to one woman, left her “very devastated.”

“To treat the NHS and emergency services like this is disgusting,” she wrote.

According to Lauren Dickson, a healthcare support worker from Glasgow, Blue Light tickets were cancelled on Friday afternoon.

“Hours prior is not the time; they could have told people far earlier,” she observed.

“I’m aware of NHS Grampian staff from Aberdeen who has spent more than £100 on travel and housing.” “You will not be repaid for any of it.”

AEG Presents announced in a statement that “unforeseen logistical challenges have tragically resulted in an oversubscription to a complimentary allocation of tickets for tonight’s show.”

“As a result, several beneficiaries’ tickets were sadly cancelled.” We’ll make sure those affected are invited the next time Ed performs in Scotland.
