Ed Sheeran Joins Taylor Swift for Eras Tour Comeback

Taylor Swift was joined by her “best friend” Ed Sheeran as she launched the final leg of the European tour for her Eras Tour on Thursday evening at London’s Wembley Stadium.

Performing their hit collaborations, “Everything Has Changed” and “End Game,” Swift expressed her gratitude to Sheeran for sharing the stage with her before a sold-out crowd of 92,000 fans. This concert marked Swift’s first performance since canceling shows in Vienna last week due to a thwarted terrorist plot targeting one of her sold-out gigs at the Ernst Happel Stadium. It was also her return to the UK following the tragic attack in Southport last month, where three children lost their lives at a Swift-themed dance class.

The BBC reports that Swift has privately reached out to the families affected by these incidents. Although she did not address these events during the concert, she did release a statement expressing her shock and sadness over the Southport tragedy.

As with most of the Eras Tour performances, the show largely followed its expected format. However, Sheeran’s surprise appearance during the acoustic segment of the evening drew an enthusiastic response from the audience. The acoustic set, kept secret until performed, featured a mash-up of “Everything Has Changed” and “End Game,” followed by Swift joining Sheeran on his ballad “Thinking Out Loud.”

Swift praised Sheeran to the crowd, highlighting his dedication despite his ongoing tour and exhaustion. The concert, running for over three hours, remained tightly scripted with minimal improvisation. Swift continued to thank the audience and shared how overwhelming the experience felt as she introduced the Folklore and Evermore segments of the show.

She performed “King of My Heart” from *Reputation* and “The Alchemy” from her latest album, *The Tortured Poets Department*, choosing songs that did not reveal much about her current state of mind but showcased her extensive repertoire.

Enhanced security measures were in place for the Wembley shows, with non-ticket holders banned from standing outside the stadium—a practice known as “Tay-gating”—and strict bag policies enforced. Swift’s Wembley run, which continues on Friday, Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday, is set to match a record previously held by Take That in 2011 for the most nights played at the venue.

Swift has already performed in Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff, and Dublin as part of her UK and Ireland leg. Her setlist includes 46 songs from ten of her studio albums, with 16 costume changes and a total runtime exceeding three hours. The Eras Tour, which began in Glendale, Arizona, in March last year, has spanned the globe, with upcoming dates in the US and Canada to close out the year.
