Katie Price to address bankruptcy issues in a private hearing
A hearing where Katie Price was set to be questioned about her bankruptcies has been postponed so she can attend a “private interview” instead. The former glamour model, 46, was previously warned by a judge that she must attend the court session without exception. She was arrested at Heathrow Airport earlier this month for missing a prior financial hearing.
On Tuesday, Judge Daniel Schaffer agreed to delay the public hearing, with a private interview scheduled for September 24. At the August 9 hearing at the Insolvencies and Companies Court, Judge Schaffer had threatened to “bring her back into custody” if she did not attend the scheduled session.
Price arrived at the court in a black cab, dressed in black with sunglasses. Her representative, Bertie Boer-Roberts, requested an adjournment to allow Price to attend a private interview with the trustee, emphasizing concerns about her “mental wellbeing and privacy” and the potential negative impact of a public hearing on her health. Boer-Roberts argued that a private setting would enable Price to provide more detailed responses without media pressure.
Price agreed to participate in the private hearing next month. As she left the court, she told reporters: “I hope you write a good story today, won’t you,” before criticizing their work and calling them “scumbags.”
Price, who was first declared bankrupt in 2019 and again in March due to a tax debt exceeding £750,000, recently had her TikTok income suspended as part of efforts to settle her debts. She is also required to pay 40% of her monthly income from OnlyFans to her bankruptcy trustee for the next three years. Her ex-husband, Alex Reid, one of her creditors, was also present at the hearing.
