Born and raised in the picturesque town of Dehradun, Silky’s early life was marked by the serenity and beauty of her surroundings. Later she pursued her higher education from Symbiosis Institute of Design, Pune. Apart from her family legacy of educational entrepreneurship, Silky, after being married, ventured into the Digital Marketing world and founded ‘Net Puppy’s’ with her Husband.

In the field of educational entrepreneurship, where men have traditionally dominated, Silky stands out as a remarkable personality. At the young age of 22, Silky joined her father at Tula’s Institute and demonstrated her ability to identify opportunities and drive growth. She transformed Tula’s from a regional player into a National educational powerhouse, diversifying its offerings and expanding its reach. She has made a notable impact and became the first female in the state of Uttarakhand to make a mark in the male-dominated education management sector.
Unwavering Focus Fuels Success
Two years after joining Tula’s Institute, Silky fearlessly took command of her next venture Tula’s International School (TIS) along with her younger brother. Under her marketing & growth strategies, TIS has evolved into one of the Top Co-Ed boarding schools in India in less than a decade.
She encourages the students of Tula’s Institute & TIS, to challenge themselves, pursue dreams, take risks, have a vision, face fears, learn from mistakes, and most importantly, believe in themselves.

Her achievements include being recognized as an inspiring ‘Women Eduleader’ by Engineering Watch in 2014 and the ‘Education Evangelist’ award from SkillTree in 2015. She has also been honored with the ‘Today’s Woman Award’ by I-next in 2017 the ‘Academic Excellence Award 2020’ and then ‘India’s Top 20 Women Leaders in Education 2022.’ Moreover, recently, she has also won the ‘Enterprising Edupreneur Award 2023’. Silky has also completed her leadership programs for Educational Professionals, both from Oxford and Harvard University in 2015 & 2017.
